Hank Aaron foundation awards scholarships to 抖阴短视频 students

TUSKEGEE, Ala. 鈥 A national baseball legend鈥檚 foundation has given some 抖阴短视频 students much-appreciated help with their educations. Founded in 1994 by Hank and Billye Aaron, the Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation was established to help young people realize their dreams. The organization awarded scholarships to four Tuskegee students for 2015-2016.

鈥淲e established the Chasing the Dream Foundation to give children with limited opportunities a chance to pursue their dreams,鈥 Billye Aaron said.

The Tuskegee scholarship recipients are:

  • Keiosha Quarles 鈥 Elementary Education
  • Monet Mayhand 鈥 Business/Marketing
  • Jasmine Johnson 鈥 English/History
  • Kristie McTear 鈥 Biology

"We're so grateful for the longtime partnership and support of the Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation. Their mission intertwines beautifully with Tuskegee's, and their support has changed lives for our deserving students,鈥 said Robert Blakely, vice president for advancement and development. 鈥淲e can never thank Hank and Billye enough for what they have meant to Tuskegee's mission."

The Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation Endowed Scholarship was established at 抖阴短视频 in January 2011 with an initial gift of $104,000.The $4,000 was provided to allowed the university to award a scholarship in years one and two until interest accumulated from the $100,000 corpus. The foundation made an additional gift of $104,000 in FY 2014-2015. The basic criteria for receiving the scholarship are 1.) Students must be in a major where they will provide a service to humanity 2.) Students must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.

The university has awarded scholarships from the endowment every year since its establishment. Two students who received the scholarship in the past were Cameron Johnson, now a sales and marketing alum and Erica Andrews, who received her master鈥檚 degree in occupational therapy in May 2015.

In addition to the scholarship awards given each year, students are also invited to an Atlanta Braves baseball game as guests of Hank and Billye Aaron (expenses paid by the Aarons鈥 Foundation). The event was held at the Turner Field Baseball Stadium, in the Aaron鈥檚 stadium suite on September 20.
