Student and recruiter speak at career fair¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ students eager for their next internship or post-graduate job will have the opportunity to speak with more than 100 potential employers this Thursday during the annual career fair. The fair is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center.

The Office of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management hosts the career fair each fall, which allows students to interact with a variety of companies that align with their areas of study and career goals. This semester’s career fair will feature Fortune 500 companies, governmental entities, and nonprofit organizations — and every type of business in between.

Career Readiness Week, hosted the week of Sept. 10, helped students better prepare for the career fair. Events helped students prepare their resumes, brush up on interview tips, understand interview etiquette and proper attire, and master networking.

On Wednesday, Sept. 26, the university will host a Student Interview Clinic, during which students will participate in mock interviews with the actual company recruiters who are participating in Thursday’s career fair. Each mock interview will be recorded, and students will receive feedback from the mock interviewer as a means of helping them improve their interview skills.

To sign up for the Student Interview Clinic, which is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., contact Rashaeda Tucker with the Career Development and Placement Services office at 727.8146, rtucker@tuskegee.edu, or 404 Tompkins Hall. Appointments will be accepted through noon on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

Career readiness is a key component of the university’s current quality enhancement plan, developed in conjunction with the university’s 10-year on-site reaffirmation of accreditation visit by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The plan — — focuses on integrating career themes and concepts into Tuskegee’s academic, career development, student life and alumni relations programs. As a result, students will be better equipped, competitive and successful as they strive to achieve their educational and career goals.
