Three notable Ƶ leaders will be among the east Alabama honorees at The Little Red Dress Soiree on Thursday, Nov. 14 in Montgomery.
In all, the program will highlight the superior achievements of 30 female leaders in the region representing private, public and service fields. Among the university’s honorees will be President Lily D. McNair, who is being awarded the event’s Humanitarian Award; head women’s basketball coach Trelanne Powell, who will receive the Sports Award; and Kimberly Pointer, executive secretary for the vice president for research and the university’s Graduate School, who will receiving the Rising Star Award.
“I am so excited about honoring these women in our community who go above and beyond to make our beautiful community a place of love,” said event producer Nikki Zeigler of Luxury Exposure Events.
Other awards being presented include the Woman of the Year, Game Changer, Legend, Influencer, and Lifetime Achievement awards.
The event begins at 7 p.m. at the BMW Montgomery dealership on Eastern Boulevard. WLTZ-TV First News’ newscast director and lifestyle reporter Nicole Jones will host the event. It will feature food, vendors, live entertainment and networking. A portion of the proceeds from the event — presented by BMW of Montgomery, Alabama Exposure Magazine and Luxury Exposure Events — will benefit the American Cancer Society.
