Visitors and contractors are still welcome to campus even as we enhance security under the new closed campus concept. Now that all students, faculty and staff are required to wear their ID at all times while on campus, there are a few things to keep in mind to minimize inconvenience.
The ID office is now located in the Public Safety building across from the main gate. ID support is available from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Because IDs are required to enter campus, if you don’t have one, you – along with visitors and contractors – will be turned around and asked to go to the Public Safety building.
Replacing Your ID
The office will issue replacement IDs for students, faculty and staff at no cost the first time. There is a $41 fee for additional replacements starting Dec. 2. Digital IDs are not acceptable, everyone must present a physical card.
Original IDs are automatically deactivated when the replacement is printed. The replacement is printed with your original photo. No one is allowed to have duplicate IDs.
If your ID is lost or stolen and later returned to the Office of Information Technology, you will receive an email notifying you how you can retrieve it. All lost IDs should be returned to the Public Safety building.
Campus Visitors
Visitors to campus will need to stop by the Public Safety building to receive a visitor’s pass between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. During off hours and holidays, the guards at the main gate will be able to issue a visitor’s pass for that day.
The university is expecting more visitors to campus now that basketball season is underway. Please allow extra time for traffic and to move through the badging process.
