Ƶ will ring in the holiday season on Sunday, Dec. 8 as part of its annual Christmas Concert and Tree-Lighting Ceremony. The concert, free and open to the public, will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the University Chapel.
The concert will feature the world-renowned Ƶ Golden Voices Concert Choir, which is under the direction of Dr. Wayne A. Barr, the university’s director of choral activities, and accompanist Brenda Shuford.
“The Christmas concert is always a highlight of our experience as a choir — for so many reasons,” Barr noted of the university’s long-standing holiday concert tradition. “It ushers in the Christmas season and allows the university to share the sacredness of this time of year with our surrounding communities.”
The Tuskegee Brass Ensemble, directed by John Q. Lennard, the Women’s Glee Club and the Men’s Glee Club will join the choir as they perform well-known classical and traditional holiday songs. This year featured work is the Vivaldi Gloria, which will be accompanied by an orchestra.
