Dr. Azalia Boyd

Dr. Azalia Boyd is the Chief Veterinary Medical Officer, for CARE’s (Companion and Animals for Reform
and Equity) Urban Community Animal CARE program. This is a community solution-based leadership
role in the veterinary field on a national level.

Dr . Boyd also serves as the committee’s first chair and is a double graduate of the Historically Black College &
University (HBCU), ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ. There, she received a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine in 2008 and a
Bachelor of Science in Animal and Poultry Science.

Alicia T. Bryan

Alicia T. Bryan, Ph.D., FACSM, is the Associate Provost and Vice President for Faculty Affairs at Columbus State
University. Dr. Bryan served 16 years in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Science as a tenured Associate
Professor of Exercise Science and previously as the Physical Activity and Wellness Coordinator.

The Rev. Dr. Loida

The Rev. Dr. Loida I. Martell is serving as this year’s Chrisitan Veterinary Fellowship Breakfast keynote speaker.
She received her Ph.D. in Constructive Theology and her M.Phil. in Systematic Theology both from Fordham
University, her M.Div. from Andover Newton Theological School, and her DVM degree in 1979 from Tuskegee
University School (now College) of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. K. Paige Carmichael

Dr. K. Paige Carmichael is a Professor of Veterinary Pathology at The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine (UGA
CVM). She served as the UGA CVM’s Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 2006-2015. Dr. Carmichael received her Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine degree from ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ School of Veterinary Medicine (TUSVM) in 1987.

She completed a combined pathology residency/ Ph.D. at UGA in 1994 and became Board Certified in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology in 1995.
