Dr. Lauren Rowe is from Montgomery, Alabama. She is a two-time graduate of ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ with a B.S. degree in Animal and Poultry ScienceÌý in 2006 and a DVM degree in 2011. After graduating from the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ College of Veterinary Medicine (TUCVM), Dr. Rowe then completed a one-year small animal rotating internship at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. After that, she worked in clinical practice at both corporate and private hospitals. Her experience includes general practice as well as emergency medicine. Dr. Rowe also spent time in academia as an assistant professor at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ’s College of Veterinary Medicine where she was a clinician working in the community practice service unit.
Currently, Dr. Rowe works for the American Veterinary Medical Association as an Assistant Director on the Student Initiatives team. This role is a liaison role that carries the responsibilities of advising accredited veterinary schools’ chapters of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA), working with faculty outreach, and assisting with the planning of the annual SAVMA symposium.
Personally, Dr. Rowe is a proud mom of a college freshman. She enjoys music, working out, and binge-watching content on any streaming platform. ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ remains an important part of her life and she hopes to help keep the legacy of TUCVM fresh in the minds of the entire profession.
